The Central Microscopy Facility is a service of The Vice Provost for Research, Office for Research Affairs, at The University of Massachusetts. The purpose of this central facility is to provide to researchers an equipment, service, and information resource for microscopy. By supporting the staff and large equipment service costs from broad-based funding contributions derived from competitive grant overhead and other sources, high quality equipment, facilities, and staff are accessible to all researchers at very modest fees. Some service is available for non-UMASS clients when schedules permit. We do not intend to compete with commercial enterprises performing microscopy services and will make referrals whenever possible.
The Central Microscopy Facility is operated by a Director, Steering Committee, and Staff Microscopists.
The Central Microscopy Facility is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF BBS 8714235). All users of this facility should acknowledge support from this grant.
